Berliner Mauer Sightseeing


Berlin, the capital, is always worth a visit and a longer stay enables visitors to walk through history and see for themselves the conserved remains of the famous and infamous Berlin Wall. On 13 August 1961, this wall was erected across the city to separate West Berlin from the eastern part. A wall which separated not only Germany but also many families and friends. Only after the passage of 28 years did the peaceful revolution bring the end of the wall and the reunification of Germany. “The wall must go” was one of the most-heard slogans at the time and this achieved the destruction of the barrier, now commemorated only by a few remnants of the structure that existed during the time of separation.
